I'm back with some changes
Since, I last spoke so much has happened. I was asked by Sharon at Brewood Library if I could do some post cards of Brewood. I couldn't wait to show her my portfolio. I was amazed when people started buying them. This resulted in these designs being turned into cards and then I produced mouse mats with 2 specific designs all of which Brewood Library sell. Then Stephanie at Codsall Library asked if I could do some postcards of Codsall. It was quite a challenge to do 5 designs in 6 weeks and get them printed. Managed it - just. Flush with success I have recently setup my website (with the majority of help from my lovely niece Sam) so that all my art -paintings; cards; mousemats etc can be purchased on line.
This year I have sold more painting than ever. Would you believe I sold 4 paintings during a walk through the churchyard after the Brewood Wake. When I was accosted by the lovely Nicola. She is a lovely girl who has become a great friend. Great laugh and has a wicked sense of humour!!!!
I have started to paint in acrylics. I'm finding myself drawn to paint my brother's portrait again !(I'm thinking big-National Portrait Awards in February) Keep you posted.
Just finished a portrait of Issy for my husband, I could have sworn their was a tear in his eye . I just don't know how she sat so still for so long!
Just sold a drawing of Codsall Square to my good friend Sally. I also, have a commission for another for her hubby, can't say what thats all about - at the moment.
So in 2011, I might be coming to a library near you!!

Mother and Child
This is my very first attempt at portraiture. I wanted to capture that special, almost magical, moment between mother and child.Which is so easily disturbed that it suddenly vanishes and life moves on.
I did this painting to 'Celebrate Motherhood' .It was exhibited at St. Nicholas' Church, Codsall ,the weekend of Mothering Sunday,2010.The exhibition, celebration and service was a great success!

My Brother
I have wanted to do a painting of my brother for sooo long!!!!. With the help of my lovely niece I obtained some photos of him (and then got his approval to do a painting). Here are two pieces I am currently working on
1.)Pencil sketch
2.) Mixed media drawing
These are studies for a large oil painting. I have never done a portrait in oils. I'm so excited- hope Gary is?
